College………What does college mean to me? I always believed that me going to college would be a far away thing. However, this is not the case. Around this time senior year, I was preparing my personal statements to send to many colleges. Honestly, I was really stuck. I was deciding on whether I should go away for college or commute from home. The only colleges that struck out to me were Oakwood University, Georgetown University, St. John’s University, and the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. I researched each of these institutions and I even attended their annual open house. It was really stressful because pf all the additional testing I had to take .For example, I had to take the SAT AND the Act. The SAT is known as the Scholastic Aptitude Test. The ACT is known as the American College Test. For about three months , I studied diligently for these exams. A few months had gone by , and I was still awaiting my college decisions. The first decision I received was from the 6 year pharmacy program at St.John’s University. However, I believe the best decision was attending the City College of New York.
